Books for Parents
If you're looking for a good book to read on how to help improve your child's cooperation, self-regulation, and social-emotional skills, here are a few books to check out. Both books allign with the words and strategies that are used in the classroom but are written for parent's use at home. You can find both of these on the Conscious Discipline® webiste, or at most local book stores.
CSEFEL
The Office of Early Learning uses the CSEFEL model in Wake County Preschools. CSEFEL, which is an acronym for "Center on the Social Emotional Foundations of Early Learning" aligns with Conscious Discipline® in a lot of ways. The CSEFEL website has some excellent resources for families on how to promote a heathy social-emotional foundation with your preschool aged children.
